Incoming call

Nora came with a list. Not that kind.

Last year she asked for a horse and got a book about horses. She would like a name.

SantaOh. Well, ask away.

NoraLast year I asked for a horse. I got a book about horses. Who made that decision?

SantaAh. Well, you see, the elves...

NoraWhich elf?

SantaThere is... a review process.

NoraOkay. Number two. We left you twelve cookies, and in the morning my dad had crumbs on his shirt.

SantaYour father is a very helpful man.

NoraHe said, mmm, Santa really liked these. He was chewing.

SantaNora, I may need to speak with Mrs. Claus before I answer that.

NoraOkay. Last one. Are you okay?

SantaAm I okay?

Nora's wish list, straight from the North Pole

Wants most

A horse. She is aware of the book.

Every wish

  • A horseReal. She was clear about real.

For the grown-ups only

  • Nora brought eleven questions. We got through three.
  • She would like the name of the elf who reviewed the horse. Santa did not give up the elf.
  • She has noticed the crumbs. Dad, a napkin.
  • At the end she asked if I was okay. I have had to sit down for a while.

Santa

Now imagine it's your kid.

Santa calls them by name and finds out what they're really wishing for. You get the recording and his notes.

Nora isn't real. This is a made-up call, performed by synthetic voices for laughs. On a real call Santa is warm, sticks to what you tell him, and never promises a gift.
